New Pool Sign

If you have been around the swimming pool since July 4, you may have noticed the new pool sign. The sign including certain safety information was mandated by our insurance company. The Board of Directors voted to comply.

The Board was aware also that the cautionary list needed to be expanded to ensure safety and appropriate behavior in the pool area.

So, on these hot days, the pool is a great place to cool off.
Come on down.

FAB FOURTH

The Town of Lantana was back in the groove on the Fourth of July with its fabulous fireworks display, and View Streeters were there to see it all from our vantage point on the water's edge.
The fireworks followed our-first-in-a-long-time Fourth of July Party in the Clubhouse. About fifteen members and guests were in attendance. A good time was had by all.
The fireworks were set off at points on the old Lantana Bridge, now under repair, next to Bicentinnel Park.
Attendees brought traditional Fourth food -- like hot dogs -- and not-so-tradtional -- like Ambrosia. It was all superb.
Hats off to the Town and hats off to our party organizers, including Board Members Gena and Gail, and Linda Friend and friends who did a lot of cooking and a lot of good work to make the party a success.

When the pyrotechnics were finished, the aroma of gunpowder hung in the air and then drifted northwards through our park and onwards toward Lake Worth.
It was a safe, fun holiday for View Streeters. Let's do it again next year.

FOURTH OF JULY

OK, it's confirmed, members will gather in the Clubhouse for the Fourth of July Party on -- um -- July 4.

Gathering time is abut 7 p.m. Bring your guests and bring your bottle. And food.

After a couple of hours of fun and frolic, we will adjourn to the waterfront to watch the fireworks provided by the Town of Lantana.

We are few in number this time of year, but we are party animals.

See you there!

Summer's Parties and Perils

A few reminders:
-- The Fourth of July Party will take place. Details soon.
-- It's been wet so far this summer. The danger of hurricanes is
always present. Those in residence would be wise to prepare with an emergency kit and a storm-evacuation plan.
-- A few raccoons have been spotted in the park. Avoid them. Notify a board member if you see one of the animals. Two raccoons have already been trapped and removed to the swamp.
-- If you are expecting guests, advise the board so that we know who is supposed to be in the park and who is not.

It's Done!

The paving of View Street was completed on Saturday.
Most of the driveways -- except those that had been done in the past with cement -- were covered with asphalt.
The work by The Paving Lady was only about a day behind schedule due to extreme weather.
The street is looking good!

Next up: New inexpensive street lights. Stay tuned.

Don't forget the big Fourth of July party.

Paving Redux

Driveway paving in the park will resume Wednesday (May 23).
If all the work is not finished on that day, the pavers will return on Friday.

Prep work for the street paving is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th, and Wednesday, May 30th.

Paving of View Street will take place on May 31 and June 1.
This is a change in the original schedule.

Traffic during the paving will be one lane at best. There could be times when the road is not passable, so you might want to park so that you can get out. Parking at Unit 2 at the west end (Dixie Highway) is possible.
